5 must-try mountain cheese dishes in January

Winter's chill is ushering in the season of winter dishes! Take a seat in the kitchen and let yourself be tempted by our selection of 5 of the editors' favorite dishes:

  • Raclette | Indestructible, world-renowned and eagerly awaited, this traditional Savoyard dish comes in many versions. Made with cow's, goat's or even blue cheese, accompany your charcuterie and potatoes for a convivial moment around the warmth of your appliance.
  • Tartiflette | This typical Savoyard dish features Reblochon cheese! Serve your cheese with potatoes, bacon, onions and crème fraiche. For a change, replace the potatoes with the typical pasta of Haute-Savoie: crozets. The result is Croziflette!
  • Savoyard fondue | The cheesedish that epitomizes sharing and conviviality, follow our recipe to prepare fondue before dipping your bread. Watch out for the daredevil who drops his or her piece!
  • Mont d'Or | This seasonal cheese, originally from the Jura region, is often accompanied by a Morteau sausage with a touch of Savagnin. As with roasted Camembert, season your Mont d'Or with a few herbs or a drizzle of honey before dipping your pieces of bread, potatoes or cured ham in it.
  • Aligot | Originating from the Massif Central and a veritable ode to melted cheese, this mashed potato mixed with Aubrac cheese is sure to seduce even the biggest cheese fans!
